The Las Palmas Medical Association has urged an urgent resumption of dialogue with the Ministry of Health, reaffirming its support for the professional collective's demands regarding current working conditions.

The president of the Las Palmas Medical Association reiterated on Thursday the institution's firm support for the demands of the medical collective. She emphasized that the objective of the dispute with the Ministry of Health is for the reality of medical practice to be understood and included in a specific statute.
While acknowledging the importance of teamwork within the healthcare system, she stressed that the medical profession has specific characteristics that must be recognized and regulated. Furthermore, she denounced that professionals face conditions that do not allow for adequate work-life balance, rest, or protection of mental health.

"The only solution is to open an effective dialogue."

The president insisted that the only way to resolve the situation is through effective dialogue. She regretted that the lack of progress has forced professionals to call a strike as a last resort; a difficult decision for a collective aware that the most vulnerable patients are the main ones affected by the stoppage.
