The sixth edition of the Film Craftsmanship Sessions, part of the 25th Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival, will gather prominent figures from the Spanish audiovisual sector. The events will take place on April 23 and 24 at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Directors such as Oliver Laxe, Alberto Rodríguez, and Albert Serra, alongside actors Javier Cámara, Laia Costa, and Asier Etxeandia, will lead three sessions moderated by cultural journalist Carlos del Amor. These discussions will cover crucial topics like cinematic authorship, the dynamics of the audiovisual industry, and the complexities of acting.
Attendance will be free, although subject to prior collection of invitations, which will be distributed soon through the usual channels of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium.
On Thursday, April 23, at 5:00 PM, filmmaker Oliver Laxe, known for his film Sirat and multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival, will share his insights on auteur cinema and his career. The following day, Friday, April 24, at 1:00 PM, the focus will shift to acting with Javier Cámara, Laia Costa, and Asier Etxeandia, who will discuss acting techniques and current changes in the industry.
The Friday session will conclude at 5:00 PM with a dialogue between Alberto Rodríguez and Albert Serra. Both directors will explore their distinct creative approaches, from industry-driven to auteur cinema, analyzing creation processes and the relationship with the audience in today's cinematic landscape.
