More than 2,500 candidates have submitted their applications to join the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police, competing for 150 available positions in the 2024 public employment offer.

Following the close of the application period, the Directorate General of Studies, Training, and Research in Public Security has begun reviewing the documentation submitted by candidates. This selection process is part of the 2024 Public Employment Offer (OPE), convened by the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice, and Security.
The selection tests, aimed at filling 150 basic scale positions (Group C, Subgroup C1) within the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police, include several elimination phases. Applicants must successfully pass theoretical, physical, and psychotechnical tests, in addition to meeting all requirements outlined in the official call for applications to join the autonomous police force.
In November 2024, the Governing Council approved the largest Public Employment Offer in the history of the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police since its establishment in 2010. This plan, to be executed over three years, also includes an expansion of the Job Catalogue to further strengthen public security throughout the archipelago.
