Minor Rescued After Jumping into Sea Fleeing Police in Las Palmas Port

A Maritime Rescue vessel intervened to save the young individual, who has a criminal record, after he jumped into the water during a pursuit.

A minor was rescued in the waters of the Port of Las Palmas this weekend after jumping into the sea while fleeing officers from the Canary Islands Police.

The intervention of the Salvamar Nunki vessel, belonging to Salvamento Marítimo (Maritime Rescue), was necessary to assist the young person, who had previously thrown himself into the water in an attempt to evade arrest.
According to information from the Port Police of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, the individual, who has a criminal record, was being pursued by officers from the Cuerpo General de la Policía Canaria (General Body of the Canary Islands Police). At one point, he decided to jump into the sea to try and escape the officers.
Following the rescue, the minor was taken to port. The operation mobilized various emergency and security resources in the port area.
