The initiative, named ‘Ports in Network: Collective Mobility 360’, combines public transport, carpooling, and free technical advice with the aim of reducing private vehicle travel to the port area. The project is based on needs identified in the Port of La Luz Mobility Study (SAO, 2025).
The plan seeks more efficient and sustainable mobility, improving traffic flow, especially during peak hours. One of the first measures has been the modification of Guaguas Municipales Line 19, unifying lines 18 and 19 to optimize the connection between the port terminal and El Sebadal.
A carpooling platform with user incentives will be incorporated, promoting shared vehicle use. In parallel, free technical workshops will be offered to port companies to facilitate the implementation of their Sustainable Work Mobility Plans, which are mandatory by the end of the year.
Furthermore, an on-demand transport model using shuttle lines will be presented, specifically designed for port workers, connecting different areas of the port complex with zones where a higher concentration of workers reside. This service will be supported by a digital tool for route optimization and real-time demand adjustment.
The main objective is to progressively reduce the estimated 2,400 daily private vehicle trips. The impact of these measures will be monitored in real-time through the Mobility Lab to adapt solutions based on the response of workers and companies.
