The judicial decision follows the seizure of nearly 3,000 kilograms of hashish by the National Police at Martorell beach, in Sardina del Norte. The suspects were apprehended while attempting to unload the illicit cargo from a rigid-hulled inflatable boat and are now facing charges related to drug trafficking and organized crime.
The operation was carried out by the Drug and Organized Crime Unit (Udyco). During the pursuit, officers fired warning shots into the air to prevent the suspects from escaping. While eight people were initially detained, further investigations have led to additional arrests linked to the criminal network.
The case remains under judicial seal as investigators continue to process the evidence. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are possible as they work to dismantle the criminal structure operating in Canary Islands.
