The swift action of the National and Local Police, in collaboration with firefighters, was crucial in rescuing three people and a pet from a house fire in Jinámar, Telde, on May 1st.

Officers from the National Police carried out a rescue operation involving several individuals and a domestic animal trapped inside a home affected by a fire in the Jinámar area, within the municipality of Telde, Gran Canaria.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 1st, when officers conducting citizen security prevention duties observed a dense column of smoke emanating from the rooftop of a building. After reporting the incident to the CIMACC 091 operational room, they immediately headed to the scene.
Upon arriving at the building, the officers confirmed that the fire's origin was on a lower floor. There, they learned that several people were trapped inside a dwelling, unable to evacuate through common areas due to heavy smoke accumulation.
With the assistance of neighbors, the officers accessed the rooftop of the adjacent building. From there, they managed to enter the affected property, forcing several access points to reach the dwelling and proceed with the rescue of the three individuals inside.
Subsequently, medical services attended to the rescued individuals, who were in a state of high nervousness. The intervening officers also received assistance for smoke inhalation. Damages were limited to material losses, and a domestic animal inside the home was also rescued alive. In addition to the National Police and firefighters, officers from the Telde Local Police participated in the operation, collaborating in securing the perimeter. The rapid intervention of the officers was essential in preventing more severe consequences.
