The country's healthcare system suffers from very limited access to essential medicines, medical supplies, and basic hygiene products.
Citizen collaboration is requested through donations of priority materials in various categories: medication (such as Apiretal, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen), sanitary supplies (gauze, bandages, gloves), non-perishable food (powdered milk, canned goods), infant supplies (formula milk, cereals), hygiene products (toothpastes, soap), school supplies (pencils, pens, notebooks), and white underwear and socks. Non-electronic toys and light clothing are also accepted.
Harit Gambia, an NGO of Canarian origin, focuses its efforts on creating a lasting impact by working hand-in-hand with local communities. They manage sponsorship programs and school scholarships, donate medical supplies to hospitals and health centers, and support infrastructure such as shelters, in addition to coordinating the transport of containers with essential donations from the Canary Islands.
