Canary Islands University Entrance Exams: Over 10,700 Students to Take Exams Next Week

ULPGC and ULL will host the university access tests between June 2nd and 5th, with significant participation figures.

More than 10,750 Canary Islands students will face the University Entrance Evaluation (EvAU) next week, from June 2nd to 5th, spread across the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and the University of La Laguna (ULL).

ULPGC expects 5,284 students, with 4,593 taking the general phase and 691 the specific phase. The latter is open not only to high school graduates but also to those from Higher Vocational Training Cycles or seeking to improve previous scores. The Gran Canaria university noted that 59.2% of enrolled students are women and 40.8% are men.
Meanwhile, the University of La Laguna (ULL) anticipates 5,466 students, with 4,571 registered for the general phase and 895 solely for the specific phase. Combined, both universities will host 10,750 candidates.
In the province of Las Palmas, ULPGC's breakdown by knowledge areas shows 2,354 students from Science and Technology high school, 1,925 from Humanities and Social Sciences, 263 from Arts, and 81 from General High School. Additionally, 688 students from Vocational Training and 202 with specific educational support needs (NEAE) will also take the exams.
Exam venues in Gran Canaria include the Tafira Campus, IES Gáldar, IES Gran Canaria in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, and IES Juan Pulido Castro in Telde. In Lanzarote, the venue will be IES César Manrique, and in Fuerteventura, IES Santo Tomás de Aquino (north) and Vigán (south).
ULPGC will publish the ordinary call results on June 12th, with final results after appeals on June 19th. Last year, 92.62% of participants passed the tests. The university offers nearly 5,000 new places across 52 degree programs, including the new non-face-to-face degrees in Psychology and Geography, Spatial Planning and Environment.
