Canarian youth football is marred by serious incidents reported by CD Verdellada after a match in Los Realejos, including assaults and property damage.

Club Deportivo Verdellada has publicly denounced a series of physical assaults and violent acts that occurred after a playoff match for promotion to Juvenil Primera against UD Longuera Toscal at the Antonio Yeoward field in Los Realejos. According to the club, the events forced players and coaching staff to take refuge in the locker room for fear of further attacks.
The Lagunero entity reports that the youth team's coach and a defender were allegedly assaulted by individuals linked to the home crowd. They claim several fans accessed the locker room area to harass and attack members of the visiting team, who remained locked inside while the situation was being controlled.

CD Verdellada President Antonio Llarena described the severity of the incidents, stating that "about 30 boys" had come with the intention to assault. He detailed that during the departure from the venue, the visiting delegation's bus was stoned, causing material damage. Some footballers sustained injuries, one with a swollen eye and another with injuries requiring surgery.
The sense of insecurity was palpable, with footballers and coaches remaining locked in the locker room. The club described the situation as one of "helplessness" and fear, especially given that the players are juveniles. They were eventually able to leave the facilities accompanied by the Local Police, whose presence was crucial in ensuring their safe departure.
For its part, UD Longuera Toscal issued a statement condemning the incidents and rejecting any acts of violence. The club announced an internal investigation to clarify the events and determine responsibilities, warning that disciplinary measures would be taken against those involved. They expressed their willingness to cooperate with authorities to enhance security.
