Simón Boccanegra is an opera in three acts, preceded by a prologue, intertwining political intrigue with profound family drama. The plot unfolds in 14th-century Genoa and tells the story of a former corsair who rises to become the Doge of the city. The narrative is complicated by the mysterious disappearance of his secret daughter, born from his relationship with his rival's daughter.
