Vacation rentals in Telde have entered a period of adjustment, marking a 21% decrease in supply over the last year. According to data from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics, the municipality had 383 available properties in April 2026, 103 fewer than the 486 recorded in April 2025. This trend reversal follows several years of sustained growth in the sector.
This market correction is not unique to Telde. Other major tourist municipalities in Gran Canaria have also seen their supply reduced: San Bartolomé de Tirajana lost 469 rentals (from 3,835 to 3,366), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria lost 235 (from 2,492 to 2,257), and Mogán lost 139 (from 1,843 to 1,704).
Industry sources suggest lower profitability, decreased revenue, a drop in the average daily rate, and regulatory uncertainty as potential reasons for this contraction. Despite the recent decline, the current vacation rental supply in Telde nearly doubles that of five years ago, when it had 207 accommodations.
With 383 properties, Telde ranks as the fourth municipality in Gran Canaria with the largest offering, behind San Bartolomé de Tirajana (3,366), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2,257), and Mogán (1,704). Its offerings combine beach, urban center, and rural areas, with a primary concentration along the coast (Melenara, Taliarte, Salinetas, Playa del Hombre) and other locations like Cazadores, associated with the rural landscape.
The price adjustment is also significant. The average daily rate in Telde stood at 110 euros per night in April 2026, an 6.8% decrease from the 118 euros in April 2025. However, this price remains higher than the 100.99 euros recorded in April 2021.
The market shows significant contrasts: while a private room is offered from 28 euros per night, a villa in the municipality's interior can reach 997 euros per night, representing the most expensive vacation rental currently found in the area.
