The initiative aims to professionalize the audiovisual sector on the island and offer opportunities to residents. The counselor for Fuerteventura Film Commission, Nereida Calero, highlighted the growing number of audiovisual productions hosted by the island, mentioning a dozen series and films so far this year, and emphasized the importance of this growth translating into job opportunities for local talent.
The main objective is for Fuerteventura residents to acquire specialized knowledge and for companies in the sector to be able to select local professionals. The presentation also included some of the instructors, such as José Luis Valdivia, Óscar González, and Francis Bodí.
This second training block, which will run from September to December, follows the first one held between May and July, which covered areas such as scenography, scriptwriting, and sound post-production. The new training proposals respond to the current demands of the sector.
The scheduled courses are: ‘Sound in Audiovisual Projects’ (September 28 - October 2) taught by José Luis Valdivia; ‘Cinematographic Lighting’ (October 26 - 30) by Óscar González; ‘Professional Makeup Applied to Audiovisual Media’ (November 9 - 13) with Francis Bodí; ‘Photography applied to Film and Television’ (November 16 - 20) taught by Cecilia Bayonas; and ‘Wigs and Hairpieces’ (November 30 - December 4) with Paco Rodríguez.
