Telde's Department of Roads and Works has begun paving the coastal road, a key action for the municipality's mobility covering 14,000 square meters.
The Department of Roads and Works of the Telde City Council, under the direction of Iván Sánchez, has continued the municipal Asphalt Plan with the complete renovation of the coastal road. This important access route to the coastline extends between the roundabout of the former Ikea and the penultimate roundabout before Salinetas.
The works, which will take place over three days, involve paving approximately 14,000 square meters. A first phase was completed last Friday, covering nearly 6,500 square meters, and the remaining intervention is expected to conclude this Tuesday.
This action is part of the second project of the Asphalt Plan, with a total investment of 3.8 million euros, aimed at improving more than 120 streets in various neighborhoods of the municipality. Funding comes from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, through the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), to promote territorial cohesion.
“
"It is a road of great importance for the municipality's mobility and with high traffic intensity, especially from heavy vehicles. For years, we have received numerous neighborhood complaints about the deterioration of the surface, which is why it has been included among the priorities of this second asphalt project."
“
"We continue to advance in fulfilling the commitments made to the citizens. Currently, there are about 40 streets pending execution within this project, which is expected to be completed in the coming months."
“
"The improvement of road infrastructure continues to be one of the priorities of the municipal government. Every action we carry out contributes to improving safety, the comfort of travel, and the city's image, also responding to historical demands from residents."
“
"This Asphalt Plan represents one of the largest investments made in recent years in the municipal road network and is allowing us to act progressively in all districts of the municipality."
The awarded company, Hermanos García Álamo, S.L., is responsible for carrying out these works, following the established schedule for this second municipal Asphalt Plan project.
