The incident occurred at 1:18 AM when the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo received a notice from the Coordination Center alerting them to a large fire in the area. Upon arrival, firefighters found the four containers completely engulfed in flames and already totally burnt out.
Firefighters proceeded to extinguish the flames within minutes and returned to their base. The incident highlights a recurring phenomenon on the island, the causes and costs of which remain unknown.
