The eleventh edition of the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike began this Thursday in Telde, featuring a technical 21-kilometer opening stage that crowned the first leaders of the general classification.

The inaugural stage, classified as an S2 event by the Union Cycliste Internationale, brought together over 200 cyclists in Lomo Magullo. The course, known for its technical difficulty and 847 meters of positive elevation gain, traversed the volcanic landscapes of Rosiana under favorable weather conditions.
In the men's category, the victory was decided in a tight final sprint after an intense battle among the favorites. Meanwhile, in the women's competition, the defending champion set a strong pace from the start, securing a one-and-a-half-minute lead as she crossed the finish line at Plaza de las Nieves.
The race continues this Friday with a 23.5-kilometer individual time trial. The route will start from Parque Sur in Maspalomas and conclude in Ayagaures, a crucial stage for establishing the first significant gaps in the general classification of the 2026 edition.
