UD Las Palmas will learn tomorrow the schedule for LaLiga Hypermotion 2026-27, facing its 35th season in the Second Division, a league where 18 of 22 teams have prior top-flight experience.

UD Las Palmas will discover the 2026-27 LaLiga Hypermotion schedule tomorrow, around 7:00 PM. The yellow team thus begins its 35th campaign in the silver category of Spanish football. Despite the promotion of historic clubs like Racing de Santander, Deportivo, and Málaga, the Second Division maintains a high competitive level, with 18 of its 22 participants having previously played in the top tier.
Only four teams have not yet debuted in the First Division. Andorra, presided over by Gerard Piqué, is the second least experienced team in the silver category with three seasons. Alongside the team from the Principality, Eldense has also not played in the elite, although it has seven seasons in the Second Division. The other two teams that cannot debut in the First Division due to regulations are the reserve teams of Real Sociedad (four seasons in Second) and Celta, which will debut next season after 22 campaigns in the third tier.
Of the 18 teams with First Division experience, the situation of three needs clarification. AD Ceuta never played in the First Division under that name, but did so in the 1951-52 season as Atlético Tetuán. The other two cases are Burgos and Córdoba, which have not played in the First Division after their refoundation, but did so previously: six times for Burgos and nine for Córdoba.
Regarding the historical league standings, Valladolid leads among the Second Division teams with 47 appearances in the First Division, followed by Sporting de Gijón with 42. The recently relegated Oviedo (39 campaigns) and RCD Mallorca (33) are also on the list. UD Las Palmas ranks as the fourth team with the most First Division campaigns (36), occupying the 18th historical position.
In terms of experience in the silver category, RC Celta Fortuna is the only debutant. Along with Andorra (3), Real Sociedad B (4), Burgos (6), and Eldense (7), they are the teams with the least history in the Second Division. For its part, UD Las Palmas, with 34 seasons in the Second Division, is the tenth most experienced team, surpassed by Sporting de Gijón (53), Tenerife (48), Sabadell (44), Cádiz (43), Oviedo (42), Castellón (40), Valladolid (39), Mallorca (37), and Granada (36).
