The exhibition, promoted by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2031 candidacy, seeks to legitimize urban art as a transformative cultural discipline. During the European Night of Museums, the historic site hosted interventions by 14 artists who have redefined the space through murals installed on contemporary structures, creating a dialogue between ancient architecture and new visual expressions.

The project will remain open to the public until next December, serving as a creative laboratory where visitors can observe artistic techniques and processes. The program includes workshops, lectures, and performances aimed at bringing this discipline closer to the public, breaking the barrier that has traditionally kept urban art outside cultural institutions in the Canary Islands.

To facilitate access to the cultural offerings, a free transport service was provided, connecting Castillo de Mata with other prominent centers such as Casa África and the Fundación de Arte y Pensamiento Martín Chirino. This initiative is part of the International Day for Cultural Diversity celebrations, reinforcing the role of culture as a driver for social cohesion and citizen participation.
