The Plaza de la Música and the Espigón square in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be the main venues for ExpoDeca 2026, offering over 400 activities from November 12 to 15. The event, aimed at promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles, will prominently feature disciplines such as the 'juego del palo' (stick game), 'bola canaria' (Canarian ball game), Canarian wrestling, Latin sailing, shepherd's leap, and stone and plow lifting.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and practice these sports, closely linked to the archipelago's cultural identity, through exhibitions and educational sessions organized by their respective federations. The Canarian Ball Federation will present the President's Cup final on Saturday, November 14, along with several exhibition sessions throughout the fair.
Latin sailing will be showcased with an exhibition of traditional boats ('barquillos') at the Espigón square, and on Saturday, November 14, a regatta will take place off the coast near the Real Club Victoria. The shepherd's leap will have significant hourly presence with exhibitions and educational sessions, as will Canarian wrestling, one of the most recognizable disciplines of the islands' sporting identity.
The 'juego del palo' and stone and plow lifting will also feature multiple exhibition sessions across the four days. Additionally, the General Directorate of Native Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands will present a new technological game dedicated to these modalities during the conference program at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium on Saturday, November 14.
ExpoDeca 2026 is promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands and organized by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, with the support of various sponsors and collaborators. All updated information is available on the event's official website.
