The Pósit space at the Central Library of the Tafira Campus hosted the third session of «Pizza Bites» on September 17. This initiative by the University Entrepreneurship Service of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) aims to bring entrepreneurship closer to students and graduates from a practical and accessible perspective.
Under the title «Emprender con sentido: desde la perspectiva de personas autónomas» (Entrepreneurship with meaning: from the perspective of self-employed individuals), the session gathered around thirty attendees from various knowledge areas of the ULPGC. Participants gained firsthand knowledge of different experiences related to starting and developing self-employment activities.
The event began with a networking session accompanied by pizza, designed to foster exchange among participants and create a relaxed environment for sharing concerns, experiences, and interests related to entrepreneurship.

Following this, Elliot Martín, Secretary General of ATA Canarias; Aday Hernández, CEO and founder of Protelum Consultoría; and Misael Jiménez, CEO and founder of MISPORT, took the floor.
Elliot Martín addressed some of the initial steps required to start a self-employment activity, along with the available requirements, aid, and resources. Aday Hernández focused his participation on the entrepreneurial attitude and the possibilities of balancing the development of a personal project with employment.
Misael Jiménez shared some of the most common mistakes that can occur during the early stages of a business project, offering his experience to identify situations that can be anticipated and managed from the outset.
The speakers also agreed on the importance of leveraging the resources and tools available to those looking to explore entrepreneurship, highlighting the value of support and training spaces for validating ideas, resolving doubts, and progressing with greater knowledge of the process.
Among these resources is the [START ULPGC Program](https://otc.ulpgc.es/emprendimiento/programas-y-convocatorias/start-ulpgc/), a free initiative with registration open until September 30. It combines collaborative sessions and mentoring to support the development of entrepreneurial ideas and offers the chance to compete for two prizes of 1,500 euros.
This third «Pizza Bites» session reinforced its objective of generating meeting spaces where the university community can approach entrepreneurship through real experiences and learn about resources that can facilitate their first steps.
