The initiative, organized by the Santa Brígida City Council, will bring together 17 activities from November 1st to 29th to highlight the wine tradition of the municipality and the wines of Gran Canaria. Santa Brígida, with five centuries of wine history, accounts for 23.5% of the island's vineyard area, with approximately 50 hectares cultivated and nine active wineries.
One of the main attractions will be guided tours to wineries such as Finca Escudero (November 8th), Bodega Rincón del Guiniguada (November 14th), Bodega Bien de Altura (November 22nd), and Bodegas San Juan (November 29th). Each visit will include transportation, a guided tour, and a tasting of wines and tapas.
The program also includes tasting workshops on November 5th and 19th at the Casa Museo del Vino (House of Wine Museum), as well as sound pairings on November 6th and 12th. The celebration will kick off on November 1st with the traditional blessing of the wine at the church of Santa Brígida.
Among the highlighted events are 'Guateque y Vinos' (November 7th), 'Vinos, música y monólogos' with Yanely Hernández (November 13th), the concert by Manu Tenorio (November 14th), 'Noche de Vinos Pa’l Monte' (November 20th), and 'Vinos y boleros' (November 21st).
On November 27th, the 'Noche de Vinos Villa de Santa Brígida' will take place, while on the 28th, a blind dinner with a tasting menu paired with four selected wines will be held. On November 9th, coinciding with World Enotourism Day, the Casa del Vino will host the meeting 'Santa Brígida, vino que conecta', featuring the presentation of the book 'La tradición vitivinícola en Santa Brígida'.
The edition will conclude on November 29th with an ethnographic route through the Caldera de Bandama. Initiatives like this contribute to bringing the value of wines protected by the Denominación de Origen Protegida Vinos de Gran Canaria closer to the consumer.
