The Santa Brígida City Council has declared emergency works for the restoration of its sanitation service collectors, severely affected by storm Therese, with an estimated investment of 5 million euros.

The measure, announced by the mayor of the Villa, aims to repair significant damage to the sanitation infrastructure, which includes interventions on 9,226 meters of the network across several ravines in the municipality. This action covers both previously identified priority sections and new complementary interventions.
Since the storm hit, municipal services have worked tirelessly to address the most urgent incidents. In parallel, technical staff have conducted a thorough analysis to assess the actual extent of the damage, especially in critical areas such as Barranco Alonso and Barranco Guiniguada (in the Meleguinas-Puente de la Calzada section), where the construction of an entirely new network is required.
The technical report details that the most affected sections are located between El Tejar and the intersection with Barranco El Colegio (1,740 meters), and between Puente de Las Meleguinas and Puente Los Silos (1,830 meters), where the existing network has suffered a total loss. In Barranco Santa Brígida, the section between Presa de Gamonal and the back of the Church (1,250 meters) shows partial loss with a medium-high level of damage, in addition to another 900-meter section with specific incidents.
Although specific incidents in Barranco El Colegio (195 meters) and Barranco Merdejo (560 meters) have already been restored, additional actions are planned for 2,751 meters, including new sections of Barranco Alonso, Barranquillo de Dios (1,430 meters), and connections to the San Mateo network. The emergency declaration aims to expedite administrative procedures and restore service as quickly as possible.
