Athletes Gissel Delgado and Haizea López, from the Kickboxing Coleta club, have qualified for the finals of the Canary Islands Government Cup after their recent victories in Gran Canaria.

The Kickboxing Coleta club experienced a competitive weekend across the Canary Islands. On Saturday, October 17th, José Ramón Quintero, known as ‘El Halcón’, made his professional debut with a victory at the Fight2One event, held at the Pabellón Municipal de Deportes Quico Cabrera in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Sunday, October 18th, in Gran Canaria, was equally successful for the Telde-based club. Gissel Delgado achieved a double victory in the K1 Light and Kick Light (-55 kg) categories, securing her place in the regional final against a representative from the province of Tenerife. Meanwhile, Haizea López was crowned champion in the Kick Light (-70 kg) category, also earning her spot in the autonomous competition final.
These results present new challenges for Kickboxing Coleta, combining Quintero's professional debut with the upcoming participation of Delgado and López in the regional finals.
Cristhian Santana Caballero, Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Telde City Council, congratulated the club and its athletes. He highlighted the preparation, discipline, and dedication of the competitors, as well as the training efforts of Yeray, known as ‘El Coleta’, who leads the club.
