Canarian bowling is experiencing a period of excellence in Telde, as demonstrated by the notable results of the Gerardo Rodríguez and Harimaguada clubs in the recent 2026 President's Cup. The competition, organized by the Insular Federation of Gran Canaria of Canarian Bowling and Petanca, took place at the facilities of the La Ciel club in Vecindario.
The Gerardo Rodríguez club stood out by winning the insular championship in the senior women's category. Additionally, they secured the youth runner-up title and two third-place finishes, one in the senior women's and another in the senior men's categories. These achievements are in addition to the senior women's championship title in the Canarian Bowling Insular League, won after prevailing in the play-off final held in Arucas.
For its part, the Harimaguada club was crowned champion in the senior men's category, thus completing an outstanding performance by the Telde representation in the insular competition.
Cristhian Santana Caballero, councilor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Telde City Council, congratulated both clubs. "These results reflect the great work being done in our sports entities and the high level of our Canarian bowling athletes, who continue to carry the name of Telde to the highest level," he stated.
Santana added that the Department will continue to support and promote disciplines deeply rooted in the local identity, such as Canarian bowling, highlighting its role in transmitting values and tradition to new generations.
