The Paco Artiles Municipal Sports Center in Telde is preparing for its new phase with a pricing structure designed to facilitate citizen access and the choice of specific sports services. This initiative follows the concession granted by the Telde City Council to the Canary Islands Swimming Federation, maintaining municipal ownership and the public nature of the facility.
One of the main innovations is the tariff flexibility. Users can opt for a monthly fee of 28 euros to use only the gym, or a comprehensive pass for 45 euros per month, which includes directed activities, gym access, and open swimming. A reduced rate of 25 euros per month has been established for individuals over 65 and people with disabilities.
For those who prefer occasional access, a single entry to the gym and pool will cost 6 euros. Swimming courses for children and young people aged 3 to 17 will start from 15 euros, varying based on the modality, number of days, and the user's membership status.
This innovative model, analyzed in technical meetings between the City Council and the Canary Islands Swimming Federation, differs from other sports facility management systems by not requiring a single, all-inclusive pass. It allows for independent contracting of services: pool, gym, directed activities, or the combined rate, aiming to broaden access possibilities and avoid payments for unused services.
The reopening of the Paco Artiles, a municipal facility closed since 2021, signifies the recovery of a key sports venue for Telde. The agreement with the Canary Islands Swimming Federation has unblocked its renovation and operational startup, with an initial investment assumed by the concessionaire.
The Telde City Council reaffirms its goal of making the Paco Artiles an accessible space for families, grassroots sports, clubs, and all citizens, reviving a facility deeply linked to the municipality's sporting history.
