On the occasion of the International Day Against Climate Change, celebrated on October 24th, the vehicle has adapted its design to convey messages about the importance of electric mobility and sustainable transition. Minister Mariano H. Zapata highlighted that the 'Coche Zero' serves as a visible platform to raise awareness about climate action and emission reduction.
The vehicle will travel across the islands' roads, combining its electric mobility technical specifications with environmental information. The goal is to promote the benefits of electrification and sustainability, calling for action against the climate challenge affecting the archipelago.
Miguel Ángel Dominguez, president of the Canary Islands Automobile Federation (FCA), reaffirmed the commitment to collaborate closely on this communication strategy, emphasizing the growing societal awareness of climate change and sustainability as an essential pillar of Canarian motorsport.
The Director General of Energy, Alberto Hernández, noted that the 'Coche Zero' effectively disseminates this message in a relatable and recognizable way across diverse public spaces.
Furthermore, the vehicle will be present at the I Canary Climate Change Forum, scheduled for November 4th and 5th in Telde, Gran Canaria. This event will gather experts, administrations, and citizens to share experiences and advance climate action in the Canary Islands, maintaining the awareness message on sustainable mobility and emission reduction.
The 'Coche Zero', part of the "El cero más cero" program, acts year-round as the official vehicle for the regional championship, promoting sustainable mobility throughout the archipelago.
