Young people from the Biosphere Reserves of La Gomera and La Palma will meet this weekend for an exchange event in La Palma to strengthen collaboration and share projects.

Youth networks from the Biosphere Reserves of La Gomera and La Palma will participate this weekend in an exchange meeting. The objective is to foster mutual understanding, share participation experiences, and generate new collaboration opportunities among the youth of both territories.
Insular president, Casimiro Curbelo, pointed out that the initiative aims to encourage dialogue between youth networks, facilitate the exchange of participation experiences, and promote the pooling of proposals related to the present and future of the Biosphere Reserve.
Diego Chinea, insular coordinator of the Biosphere Reserve of La Gomera, highlighted the positive reception of this action among the island's youth, with the planned quota of over twenty participants being filled. This reflects the interest of young people in participating in spaces linked to the Biosphere Reserve and issues related to sustainability, conservation, culture, and heritage.
The call has been disseminated through channels such as the Biosphere Reserve's social media profiles, where the entity regularly publishes information of interest, educational content, curiosities, and useful resources related to the values, heritage, and objectives of the Reserve.
The meeting will take place in La Palma on October 16, 17, and 18. It will allow participants to visit different natural, landscape, and cultural sites on the island, as well as exchange knowledge and perspectives on the shared challenges and opportunities of both territories.
Throughout the event, participants will visit representative spaces in La Palma, including Santa Cruz de La Palma, Caldera de Taburiente, the area around the Tajogaite volcano, the Fuencaliente salt flats, Los Tilos, and Las Nieves. Direct knowledge of these sites will contribute to enriching the exchange and generating spaces for reflection on the relationship between youth, territory, and sustainable development.
Furthermore, the meeting will reinforce the ties between La Gomera and La Palma and advance cooperation between territories that share challenges in areas such as the conservation of their natural and cultural values, citizen participation, and sustainable development.
