The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, along with the Minister of Health, Esther Monzón, and the Director of the Canary Health Service (SCS), Adasat Goya, visited the facilities of the La Esperanza Local Health Center in El Rosario. The center, which begins operations next Monday, September 28th, has undergone comprehensive renovation.
The new health center, representing an investment of €2,559,325, addresses a long-standing demand from the population and offers more space and comfort in facilities adapted to the needs of the El Rosario-Geneto basic health area. President Clavijo acknowledged the work of the professionals from the previous facility.
The Minister of Health, Esther Monzón, explained that the new infrastructure spans 1,024 square meters and will serve a population of over 6,000 people, marking a milestone in the improvement of the municipality's health services.
The Mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, expressed his satisfaction with the completion of this much-needed infrastructure and outlined future plans to acquire the adjacent plot to expand services such as rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, and mental health services.
The center is distributed across two floors, a semi-basement, and a rooftop, featuring ten consultation rooms (three for Family and Community Medicine, three for Nursing, one for Pediatrics, one for Pediatric Nursing, and two multipurpose rooms), as well as an extraction room. It has two pedestrian entrances, with one designated for emergencies.
The staff at the La Esperanza Peripheral Health Center comprises thirteen professionals, including specialists in Family and Community Medicine, Pediatrics, Nursing, and administrative personnel. The center covers a total of 6,118 health cards.
