The evaluation team of the Canarias Transparency Commissioner, led by Commissioner Noelia García, held a virtual meeting with representatives of overseas entities receiving public funds from the Government of Canarias to understand their transparency challenges.

The meeting, requested by the Directorate General for Emigration of the Government of Canarias, aimed to address the specific needs of these organizations, which often face technical and administrative obstacles such as internet access issues and lack of electronic certificates.
During the encounter, issues related to the right of access to public information were also discussed, seeking to clarify doubts and facilitate public access to relevant data. Avenues were explored to ease compliance with transparency obligations, considering the particularities of entities operating outside the Archipelago.
Representatives from the Sociedad Islas Canarias de Uruguay, Unión Canaria de Venezuela, Fundación Canaria Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, and Fundación Canaria Nuestra Señora de los Reyes participated. Also attending were José Manuel Téllez Ledesma, Director General for Emigration, and Dayana Morales, Delegate of the Government of Canarias in Venezuela.
Commissioner Noelia García thanked the Director General for Emigration for his mediation and highlighted the importance of institutional cooperation and direct dialogue to find solutions that facilitate these entities' compliance with transparency obligations.
