This data, released by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC) through the System for Autonomy and Dependency Care (SAAD), reflects a significant rise in the recognition of rights. The year-on-year increase amounts to an additional 42,889 benefits.
However, the analysis of effective benefits shows that 76,846 are currently being received, meaning approximately one in every four recognized benefits has not yet been materialized. The majority of these non-effective benefits, specifically 92%, are related to the Economic Benefit Linked to Service (PEVS).
Regarding individuals with a resolved but not yet effective Individual Care Plan (PIA), the figure in July was 13,508. This number has seen a decrease of 1.7% compared to the previous month and a reduction of 21% since January.
The average processing time for applications stood at 283 days during July. This figure represents a significant improvement, with a decrease of 31 days compared to June and 230 days less than in July of the previous year. The legal process under the Dependency Law stipulates a maximum period of six months from the evaluation request to the resolution and subsequent effectiveness of the service or benefit.
