The police operation, which has brought an end to months of neighborhood concern, focused on two residences where suspicious movements had been detected. National Police agents initiated the investigation thanks to the intelligence and prevention work of their specialized units at the provincial police station.
During discreet surveillance in the Santa Clara neighborhood, investigators observed a constant flow of people visiting the properties. These “clients” arrived with cash and left just minutes later, confirming suspicions about the illicit activity of selling and distributing prohibited substances, primarily cocaine.
With the evidence gathered and the necessary judicial authorization, the National Police proceeded with the entry and search of the identified properties. The deployment allowed for the arrest of both suspects and the seizure of a significant drug haul, which included 123 grams of high-purity cocaine, 0.6 grams of crack, and 1 gram of hashish. Fragmented cash, presumably to facilitate transactions, was also found.
The detainees are accused of a public health offense related to drug trafficking. After being brought before the court, the competent authority ordered the immediate imprisonment of one of the arrested individuals, given the seriousness of the facts and the evidence presented by the agents.
“"Any hint or suspicion is vital to initiate a successful investigation."
This intervention is part of the National Police's strategic plan against organized crime and small to medium-scale drug trafficking in Tenerife's neighborhoods. The eradication of these “black spots” is a priority to improve civic coexistence and reduce the feeling of insecurity. The National Police has emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration, maintaining an active confidential communication channel via the email antidroga@policia.es to receive anonymous information.
