From Thursday, April 23, to Sunday, April 26, Santa Cruz de Tenerife will transform into a large open-air stage. The agenda combines literary activities such as guided tours of the Central Municipal Library and illustration workshops, with musical and folk events.
Highlights include the announcement of the winner of the Santa Cruz City Criminal Novel Award – Tenerife Noir, which will take place on Thursday, April 23, at the Cilindro Hall of the Central Municipal Library. Additionally, the Quico Cabrera Municipal Pavilion will host the Final Phase of the Women's Superliga-2 Volleyball during these days.
On Friday, April 24, the Plaza de La Candelaria will be the epicenter of the Election Gala for the Queen of the May Festivities 2026, with 35 candidates participating. On the same day, the Museum of Fine Arts will inaugurate the exhibition “Tanja Tamvelius. Cartographies of Memory and Color (1914/1918-1969),” available until June 7.
On Saturday, April 25, sports activities will take center stage with the X Tenerife Ports Tournament at the Puerto Ciudad esplanade, the Canary Islands Boxing Championship Final at the Pancho Camurria Pavilion, and the Tenerife Swimrun at Las Teresitas Beach. The day will conclude with the Election Gala for the Senior Queen of the May Festivities in the Plaza de La Candelaria.
Sunday, April 26, will close this first block of festivities with the Election Gala for the Children's Magician and Witch, also in the Plaza de La Candelaria, dedicated to the participation of the youngest in Canarian traditions.
The program is complemented by various exhibitions in venues such as the TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, the Sala L de La Recova, and the García Sanabria Park, as well as concerts by the Municipal Music Band and the Municipal Music School, and theatrical performances at the Auditorio de Tenerife and the Teatro Victoria.
