The internationally recognized festival will adopt a historical theme that will guide the design of the works and the overall aesthetic of the next edition. The call for entries will be made through a public competition offering a main prize of 12,000 euros for the winning proposal.
In addition to the main prize, the council will maintain an economic incentive of 1,000 euros for each of the five finalist designers. This measure aims to compensate for the effort in developing the complete graphic image of the celebrations.
The Councilor for Festivals, Javier Caraballero, has confirmed that the selection method used in the previous edition will be repeated, citing its success. The selection process will be structured into three phases: submission of posters, development of the graphic image by the finalists, and public online voting.
“"To foster local talent to represent our most international festival."
The city's mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, has defended this open bidding format, highlighting its ability to "foster local talent" and the quality of the resulting works.
The first phase, for the submission of proposals, will run from June 29 to July 29. Subsequently, a technical committee will select five projects. The finalists will have 30 days to adapt their base poster to the complete graphic image of the festivities. The third phase will consist of a seven-day public vote via the internet.
The rules, available on the official website carnavaldetenerife.com, require posters to be 50x70 centimeters, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, and all graphic elements must be original and unpublished. The submission of proposals must be done electronically through the electronic headquarters of the City Council.
