The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council allocates approximately 463,000 euros annually for the organization of the Sunday street market on Marítima Avenue, according to Public Services Councillor.

The annual cost of setting up the Sunday street market on Santa Cruz de Tenerife's Marítima Avenue amounts to 463,000 euros, as reported by the Councillor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, from the PP, during a municipal plenary session. This figure covers expenses such as cleaning, security, and management.
The decision to relocate the market to its current site was based on a Security report that deemed the previous location difficult to control. The councillor explained that the move was not made lightly and aims to optimize the management of this activity.

"We opted for its relocation because a strong Security report established it, as it was impossible to control this activity where it was previously located."

In response to complaints from the PSOE regarding potential sales losses for vendors due to the new location and lack of shade, the Public Services department will launch a campaign for each stall to report its income and sales. The goal is to assess the impact of the site change.
Furthermore, the council is working on projects to provide shade for both the market stalls and the maritime avenue, with the intention of using this space for other activities throughout the week.
