The town of Tegueste is set to host this Sunday, April 26, the LXVIII Pilgrimage in honor of Saint Mark the Evangelist, an event that merges religious tradition with vibrant Canarian folklore, drawing thousands of visitors from across the archipelago.

The festive day officially commenced at 11:30 AM with a solemn Eucharist at the Parish of San Marcos. Following the mass, the image of the saint proceeded in procession to perform one of the most anticipated rituals: the blessing of pilgrims, carts, boats, and livestock, an act that underscores the municipality's deep connection to its agrarian roots.
From 1:00 PM, the streets of the town were filled with color as the pilgrimage began. The carts, considered true works of art due to their elaborate decoration with seeds, were the main attraction alongside the parranda groups and folk ensembles that enlivened the route.
Despite the meteorological instability announced by the Aemet for the early hours of the day, the weather was expected to respect the celebration, allowing attendees to enjoy the music and the atmosphere of camaraderie, always respecting traditional Canarian attire.
For those wishing to extend the celebration, the Plaza de San Marcos transformed into a lively dance floor from 4:00 PM. This year's open-air dance featured performances by Dorada Band and Malibú Band, responsible for setting the rhythm for the close of one of Tenerife's most popular spring events.
