The festival's centerpiece was the procession of Our Lady of Remedies. Throughout the route, the Virgin's image was accompanied by the four elements that constitute La Librea: the Militia, the Dance of the Flowers, the Ships, and the religious figure herself.
Subsequently, the Plaza de San Marcos hosted a pivotal moment of the day: the reenactment of the invading Ships' attack on the Castle. This simulation symbolizes the defense of the territory against pirate and corsair incursions. The event concluded with the victory of the defending forces under the intercession of the Virgin of Remedies, marking the symbolic retreat of the ships.
The Plaza de San Marcos once again became a meeting point for generations, where resident participation and a sense of belonging took center stage. The celebration perpetuates a tradition rooted in the municipality's collective memory, ensuring its transmission to future generations.
The Tegueste City Council has highlighted the commitment of all individuals, groups, and entities that made this event possible. Their contribution has been crucial in preserving this manifestation, recognized since 2007 as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) in the intangible heritage category.
With this edition, Tegueste reaffirms its connection to a tradition essential to its history and identity, demonstrating that La Librea continues to be a vibrant expression of the locality's cultural and religious heritage.
