The capital of Tenerife will deploy a special traffic operation for the Cycling Event, a sports and family activity aimed at promoting sustainable mobility. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of the hundreds of expected participants.
Traffic alterations will begin early. The Avenida de Madrid will be closed to traffic at 7:00 AM. Subsequently, at 9:00 AM, circulation will be restricted on Avenida Francisco La Roche, between the Tres de Mayo roundabout and the Rambla. The Local Police will coordinate progressive closures on other roads along the route starting at 10:00 AM.
The cycling route includes Avenida de Madrid, Avenida Bélgica, Avenida de San Sebastián, Avenida La Salle, Puente Galcerán, Plaza Weyler, Calle Méndez Núñez, Calle El Pilar, Calle Villalba Hervás, Calle La Marina, Avenida Marítima, the Vía Litoral Tunnel, and Avenida Francisco La Roche. Streets will be reopened progressively after the last cyclist passes.
Parking restrictions will commence at 1:00 AM on Sunday in sections of Avenida de Madrid, Avenida Bélgica, Calle Méndez Núñez, Calle El Pilar, and Calle Villalba Hervás. A second phase, starting at 3:00 AM, will prohibit parking on Calle La Marina, Avenida Marítima, and Avenida Francisco La Roche, as well as in parking areas between Plaza del Cabildo and Plaza de Europa.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council requests citizen cooperation and advises drivers to plan their journeys in advance and follow the instructions of the organization staff and security agents.
