The company Delirium Teatro, in co-production with the Auditorio de Tenerife, is restaging this weekend the play 'Libros Cruzados', written by Antonio Tabares. The show, which was previously part of the 40 Delirios program, will have three performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM, and Sunday at 12:00 PM. All tickets for these performances are already sold out.
The plot of 'Libros Cruzados' revolves around a copy of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina that changes hands. During the performance, three women find their lives questioned by the reading: Mariana, a museum guard, recognizes herself living a dull and meaningless reality; Patricia, a novelist, has her own writing profession and the honesty of her relationship challenged; and Silvia finds solace in Tolstoy's words to cope with pain. The play celebrates a love for literature and reflects how books can shed new light on our lives and help us endure existence.
The cast includes Soraya González del Rosario, Joche Rubio, Maday Méndez, Silvia Criado, Abel Moral, Carmen Cabeza, Vicente Ayala, Joel Morales, Dani Sanginés, Mabel Quintero, Delia Hernández, and Ignacio de la Lastra. The stage direction is by Severiano García, with musical direction and composition by Julio Tejera.
In addition to the three performances, on Thursday the 24th, starting at 6:00 PM with free admission until full capacity, there will be a presentation of the written text by playwright Antonio Tabares for this work. The Auditorio de Tenerife, in co-edition with Ediciones Antígona, is publishing Libros Cruzados as the second title in the Malpaís collection. This new editorial line, specializing in opera, performing arts, and music, is supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife through the Auditorio de Tenerife. The presentation will feature Conchita Piña, director of Ediciones Antígona, and Antonio Tabares himself.
