The Auditorio Insular de La Gomera will host the launch of the Atlantic Jazz Lab Orchestra's new album, titled Too Darn Hot!. This event marks the beginning of the album's presentation tour, which was recorded live on the island and is supported by the prestigious Dutch label Teles Music.
Under the direction of the acclaimed trumpeter, the orchestra will feature the stellar participation of the renowned Belgian singer Esther Van Hees. Her voice will lead a vibrant repertoire, designed to captivate both jazz enthusiasts and the general public.
A project with Canarian roots and international projection.
The Atlantic Jazz Lab Orchestra (AJLO), founded in 2017, has established itself as a fundamental pillar of the Atlantic Jazz and New Music Laboratory. Following the success of their previous work, Garajonay Suite, the ensemble returns to the island that inspired their latest recording to share with the people of La Gomera the energy of an album captured amidst its landscapes.
Admission to the concert is free until full capacity is reached, although tickets must be collected in advance at no cost through the orchestra's official website. The tour's repertoire masterfully blends swing era classics from composers like Duke Ellington or Count Basie with contemporary arrangements by artists such as Kenny Wheeler or Miguel Blanco.
