The Canary Islands are preparing for a day of meteorological instability this Saturday, with northerly winds reaching very strong gusts across much of the archipelago.

According to information provided by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the central peaks of Tenerife could experience wind speeds exceeding 90 kilometers per hour during the early morning, maintaining a danger warning across various latitudes.
Winds will blow from moderate to strong across all islands, with particular impact on mid-altitude and summit areas. In Tenerife, gusts of 70 km/h are expected, especially affecting the high areas of the dorsal ridge, the north, and the southern slope of the metropolitan area. The central peaks will experience even greater intensity, surpassing 90 km/h.
In Gran Canaria, the warning extends to the summits and the eastern and western slopes, with maximum gusts of 70 km/h. For La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, the northerly component will strike summits and mid-altitudes with force, with a 40% to 70% probability of reaching very strong gusts of 70 km/h. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will see northwesterly winds with strong intervals in inland areas, shifting to northerly by the end of the day.
The precipitation forecast indicates predominantly cloudy skies during the morning, especially on the northern slopes of the higher relief islands, where weak and occasional rainfall cannot be ruled out. In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, cloudiness will be persistent with probable rain during the early morning. As the afternoon progresses, wide clearings are expected, except in the south, where occasional clouds might appear.
Temperatures will register a slight increase, more pronounced in the central peaks of Tenerife. In the Canary capitals, temperatures will range between a minimum of 15 degrees and a maximum of 21 degrees in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, while Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will reach 19 degrees. The lowest minimum temperature of the day will be in El Hierro, with 9 degrees in Valverde.
Sea conditions will be complicated, with northerly winds of force 4 to 6. Rough to very rough seas are expected, accompanied by northwesterly swell with waves of 2 to 3 meters in height and occasional showers in the waters of the archipelago.
