The call, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), offers up to 250 euros per month to contribute to the rent payment of their habitual residence, thereby promoting youth emancipation in the archipelago.
This program has a total budget of 12,878,000 euros. Funding is distributed between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, contributing 10,600,000 euros, and the councils of Lanzarote and La Graciosa (with 378,000 euros from 2025 unspent credits) and Tenerife (with 1.9 million euros). This island collaboration aims to enhance housing access for young people on these islands.
The co-financing between the regional, central governments, and island councils underscores a joint effort to address the challenge of accessing decent housing in a rental market with rising prices for Canary Islands' youth.
The application period runs for 15 business days, from September 18 to October 8, 2026. Electronic submission through the regional electronic headquarters is recommended.
The aid can amount to a total of 6,000 euros per beneficiary, paid semi-annually after rent payment justification. For retroactive applications, payment may be made upon concession if corresponding receipts are provided.
Requirements include being of legal age, a resident of the Canary Islands, holding a rental contract, and demonstrating annual income in 2025 not exceeding 3 times the IPREM (Public Income Indicator for Multiple Effects). This limit is raised to 4 times the IPREM for general category large families, individuals with disabilities, and victims of terrorism, and up to 5 times the IPREM for special category large families and individuals with a recognized disability of 33% or higher.
The maximum subsidized rent amount is 900 euros per month for entire homes and 450 euros for rooms. The program aims to improve the quality of life and facilitate youth emancipation.
