UD Tamaraceite has confirmed the departure of its captain, David García, after six seasons with the club, now seeking a project in Tercera División that allows him to balance his family life.

Unión Deportiva Tamaraceite officially announced this Saturday the farewell of its captain, David García, a fundamental pillar over the last six seasons. The club from the south of the Gran Canaria capital has announced the departure of the veteran defender, who has decided to seek a new sporting direction.
At 44 years old, García will remain active, exploring options in Tercera División or even Preferente. The decision stems from the need to balance his passion for football with his family life, an equilibrium that became complicated after the team's promotion to Segunda RFEF and the subsequent extensive trips to the mainland, totaling over 39,000 kilometers.

"Farewells are never easy, but this is probably one of the most difficult in our club's history."

The club issued an open letter recalling the player's career, who arrived in 2019 after a successful stint at Unión Deportiva Las Palmas, where he holds the record for most matches played with 474. During his time at Tamaraceite, García was key in two promotions, including the recent return to Segunda RFEF, and winning the Copa José Antonio Ruiz Caballero.
The entity highlighted his role as "captain, leader, and example," emphasizing his influence on both teammates and the youth academy. "You have been a mirror for the youth players to look up to," states the club, which thanks him for his "daily dedication, professionalism, humility, and pride" in defending their colors.
UD Tamaraceite concludes its tribute by stating that David García "leaves an indelible mark" and that "this will always be your home." The captain's farewell marks the end of an era for the club.
