Two men sustained injuries of varying severity, one of them serious, following a head-on collision between two vehicles that caused one to overturn and catch fire early Sunday morning on the TF-1 highway in the municipality of Arico (Tenerife).

The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on the TF-1 road, between the Chimiche and Tajao sections. Tenerife Firefighters had to extricate one of the vehicle occupants and extinguish the flames that erupted in one of the cars.
The Canary Islands Emergency Medical Service (SUC) attended to the two injured individuals at the scene. One presented with severe multiple traumas and was transported by a medicalized ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.
The second victim suffered a head injury and was evacuated to the same hospital by a private ambulance present at the location, which alerted emergency services to the accident.
Guardia Civil officers have taken charge of the investigation and the corresponding report to determine the causes of the crash.
