The Club Gimnasia La Playa has concluded the 2025/26 season with significant achievements, revalidating national club titles in tumbling and women's artistic gymnastics, and securing numerous individual podiums. The Gran Canaria entity, with a history dating back to the 1980s, was received by counselor Poli Suárez.

The Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of Canarias, Poli Suárez, along with the Vice-Minister Ángel Sabroso, acknowledged the outstanding results of the Club Gimnasia La Playa during the 2025/26 season. The meeting served to congratulate the club for its position as a national benchmark in artistic gymnastics and trampoline.
Suárez emphasized the "enormous work" carried out by athletes, coaches, directors, and families, and highlighted the Canarian talent in disciplines with less media exposure. "It is our responsibility to recognize these successes and help our young athletes have close role models," stated the minister, underscoring the role of young female gymnasts as inspiration for future generations.
The Club Gimnasia La Playa, with over a hundred gymnasts and a history dating back to the 1980s, sent around fifty athletes to the Spanish Championships. Collective achievements include retaining the Spanish club title in tumbling, the national runner-up position in double mini-tramp, and the national club championship in Base 3 women's artistic gymnastics.
Individually, Cecilia Thams and Eva de Luis won national titles in trampoline, while Ainhoa Pastor and Cayetana Garzón triumphed in women's artistic gymnastics. Internationally, the club's TeamGym squad finished fourth in the International Cup of Clubs in Cesenatico, Italy.
With over four decades of training work, the Club Gimnasia La Playa solidifies its position as one of the most established entities in the discipline of gymnastics in Canarias.
