The Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC) has released its Pharmaceutical Indicators for July 2026, reporting a total pharmaceutical expenditure of 61.2 million euros in the Canary Islands. This figure marks a 1.0% increase from June.
Year-on-year, pharmaceutical spending saw a 2.4% growth compared to July 2025, when the expenditure was recorded at 59.7 million euros.
During July, a total of 5.2 million drug packages were invoiced. This quantity is higher than that of June (up 1.36%) and also greater than the same month in 2025, with a 1.35% increase. The average spending per dispensed package was 11.7 euros, a figure slightly lower than the previous month.
