Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is preparing to host the II African Day Fest this Saturday, August 22nd, a cultural event aimed at highlighting the richness of African cultures and strengthening ties with the Canary Islands.

The Intercambiador de Santa Catalina (Santa Catalina Interchange) will be the hub of this celebration, running from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event, promoted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Las Palmas, primarily seeks to showcase the cultural diversity of the African continent.
For this edition, Equatorial Guinea is the guest of honor. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Equatorial Guinean cultural identity through its cuisine, vibrant music, traditional dances, and other cultural expressions.

An encounter of cultures that unites us

Under the slogan «An encounter of cultures that unites us», the African Day Fest 2026 is envisioned as a day of coexistence and cultural celebration, with Africa at its core and the Canary archipelago as a meeting point.
The initiative also aims to strengthen relationships between the two communities and provide a space to discover new cultural expressions, all taking place in the heart of Gran Canaria's capital.
