“"La Laguna has the great honor of being, once again this year, the locality in Tenerife with the most blue flags, positioning us as a benchmark in the conservation and maintenance of these leisure spaces. We are one of the few municipalities in the Canary Islands that has been renewing and expanding these national recognitions for over ten years, demonstrating our firm commitment to improving these enclaves and their associated facilities."

San Cristóbal de La Laguna has incorporated four new Blue Flags along its coastal areas, recognizing environmental quality and offered services.
The municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna hoisted four new Blue Flags on Tuesday at various points along its coastline. These environmental quality distinctions are now flying at the natural pools of Bajamar, Jóver (in Tejina), and El Arenisco (in Punta del Hidalgo), as well as the Camino de San Juanito.
The flag-raising ceremony was attended by the mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, accompanied by councilors Ángel Chinea, Fran Hernández, and Cristina Ledesma, along with neighborhood representatives from the coastal areas.
This recognition, awarded by the Association of Environmental Education and Consumerism (ADEAC), highlights the qualities of these natural areas in La Laguna and the services available to users.
In addition to environmental regulatory compliance, improvements have been made to the bathing areas, including new surveillance towers, updated lifeguard and rescue services, and amphibious chairs to facilitate access for individuals with disabilities.
The Camino de la Costa de Punta del Hidalgo, popularly known as Camino de San Juanito, has received the Blue Trail award for the sixth consecutive year, recognizing the quality of its ecosystems and its accessibility for pedestrians.
The Blue Flag is an annual environmental quality award managed in Spain by ADEAC, in collaboration with the Canary Islands Government's Health Department. Blue Trails are routes that connect Blue Flag beaches or ports, promoting sustainable use of the coastline.
