“"This fair has been a great commitment by the government team, which began its journey last year in El Paso with great acceptance, and which we are now developing in Mazo to reach the entire population of our island. It seeks to be a meeting point between job seekers, companies, institutions, and training entities."

The Cabildo de La Palma has inaugurated the second edition of the Job, Training, and Entrepreneurship Fair in Villa de Mazo, an event running until April 17 that connects over 27 companies and educational centers with job seekers from across the island.
The fair, held at the David Jiménez Silva Sports Pavilion, offers an extensive program including talks, advisory sessions for entrepreneurs, and the presentation of new job opportunities. This gathering aims to be a key meeting point for job seekers, businesses, institutions, and training entities in La Palma.
The Councillor for Employment, Susa Armas, highlighted that one of the main objectives of this initiative is to bring job opportunities closer to citizens, facilitating direct contact between those seeking an opportunity and those offering it, thereby reducing distances and opening new doors in the island's labor market.
Furthermore, Armas emphasized the promotion of entrepreneurship as another pillar of this second edition. Resources, advice, and support are offered to those who decide to start their own project, thus contributing to the economic and social growth of the island.
In parallel, a professions exhibition is being held, showcasing the twenty professional families available in La Palma's training offerings. Ten educational centers providing Vocational Training, professional artistic, and special regime sports education participate, coordinated by the Professional Information and Guidance Network. Entities such as the Cabildo de La Palma's Prodae Program, the Chamber of Commerce, Fedepalma, and Ader La Palma also provide support for entrepreneurship.
The event also includes the participation of other entities, such as the Spanish Army's Canary Islands Command, which has an information point, as well as six training centers and three telescopes from the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory. This initiative, led by the island's government team under Sergio Rodríguez, is consolidating as a key space for employment, training, and opportunities in La Palma.
