The eighth edition of Give Me The Money (GMTM) will turn Las Palmas de Gran Canaria into the grappling epicenter this Saturday. The event, held at the Gallera of the López Socas Sports Center starting at 4:00 PM, will feature over twenty fights, notable for its competition format focused on finishes and the invitation of top-tier fighters.
Unlike other tournaments, GMTM selects its participants by invitation to ensure top-quality bouts. The format is characterized by reduced time limits and an emphasis on opponent submission, aiming for greater intensity and spectacle. The organization also promotes the professionalization of the discipline through prize money for athletes.
The island of Gran Canaria is experiencing a boom period for grappling, further consolidated by the recent Spanish Championship. The VIII Give Me The Money will bring together regional, national, and international specialists with the goal of introducing this sport to a wider audience.
One of the most significant novelties is the debut of Give Me The Money Kids, a competition for young talents. Male categories (10-11 years old, up to 35 kg) and female categories (7-8 years old, up to 30 kg) will be available, highlighting the spontaneity and fearlessness of the youngest competitors.
Canarian fighter Enrique Quevedo will headline the event's main bout. Quevedo, after months of preparation, aims to showcase his hard work and emphasize the importance of events like GMTM for the growth of grappling.
With this edition, the tournament reaffirms its commitment to combining professional competition, entertainment, and the development of new talent, solidifying López Socas as a key meeting point for grappling in the Canary Islands.
