The DinoSol Foundation and the Ministry of Health have inaugurated a new rest and play room for hospitalized minors at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC) in Tenerife, with an investment of 130,000 euros.

The DinoSol Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has opened the doors today to a renovated rest, play, and terrace area for minors and adolescents admitted to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC). The event was attended by the Foundation's president, Davinia Domínguez; the director of the Canary Islands Health Service, Adasat Goya; and the manager of the HUC, Rafael Luis Martín.
This project, stemming from an agreement signed in July 2024, involved the adaptation of the play area, both indoor and outdoor. The works included the installation of new flooring, wall improvements, restructuring of the outdoor terrace, review of electrical and plumbing systems, and the incorporation of specific furniture and decoration for children.

"This project aims to improve the stay of children admitted to this healthcare center, making their time here a little more bearable. It's about offering them all guarantees of comfort and safety so they have their own space for disconnection, entertainment, and escape, which is fundamental while many are undergoing medical treatment."

Davinia Domínguez · President of the DinoSol Foundation
The president of the DinoSol Foundation emphasized that "investing in promoting and creating these types of spaces is investing in health, the health of children undergoing a period of medical admission, thereby normalizing their situation and allowing them to escape for a while from the routine of the treatments they are undergoing".
The total budget for the project amounted to approximately 130,000 euros, of which 90,000 euros were allocated to the works and the remainder to furniture and decoration. The rooms feature furniture adapted to the needs of minors, in pastel tones.
This initiative is part of the DinoSol Foundation's "Respiro" program, being the third project of its kind financed in healthcare centers. Previously, the foundation inaugurated similar rooms at the Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote (2024) and launched a perinatal grief counseling consultation at the CAE de Telde in 2025.

"Today, we inaugurate much more than a new physical space; a place designed for the smiles, play, rest, and hope of children, and also for their families."

Adasat Goya · Director of the Canary Islands Health Service
Adasat Goya thanked the DinoSol Foundation for its social commitment and explained that the new space aligns with the Person-Centered Strategy of the Canary Islands Health Service, promoting the humanization of care.
For his part, the manager of the HUC, Rafael Martín, highlighted that the new environment will offer minors and their companions "a more open, comfortable space adapted to their needs during their hospitalization".
The DinoSol Foundation, established in 2017 by HiperDino, focuses its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on supporting its employees, families, and social well-being in the Canary Islands, with projects such as "Alimentos con Vida" (Food with Life) and the "Canary Islands Family Aid Program".
